To understand what a GeekBidder is, we must first examine the origins of the original Geek. For simplicity’s sake, we’ll begin around the early 80s. It was at this time that video games and personal computers swept the homes of thousands. With these new pastimes, leaving one’s house became an optional activity. Thousands of individuals seemingly disappeared from existence, only emerging when absolutely necessary. The birth of Atari was a national holiday and Pac Man actually received write-in votes in the presidential election. Thus, the Archaic Geek was born.
This type of Geek was a technology guru who basked in the sweet sight of ones and zeros prancing across a monochrome screen, only to be interrupted by the uninvited early-morning sunlight glaring into his or her basement window. Marked by the presence of tanless skin, these individuals generally conversed within their own, if they conversed at all. Things remained this way for many years. However, as technology and time pushed forward, a new technological era began. Welcome, the GeekBidder Geek. |

Perhaps the socio-evolutionary hybrid of the Archaic, the GeekBidder is comfortable with his or her own oddities. He embraces his technological prowess and wishes to share it with others.
