Sessions/Cookies
GeekBidder uses session variables to deem whether a user has logged into the system as a registered member, or if he or she is an anonymous non-member. On the first page view of every unique visit, a cookie will be placed on the user’s computer storing his or her session ID. This contains no personal information.
Information Sharing/Advertising
We do not sell/provide your personal information to 3rd parties, except when required to by law, or in the event of a merger or company buyout. If one of these two situations presents itself, the affected parties will be notified as deemed appropriate.
In the event that a page contains an advertisement, we do use general information you provide to display targed ads. Advertising is targeted on a category basis (Buyers, Geeks, Geeks with the PHP skill, Buyers who have Projects that demand the A+ certification, etc.) and not on an individual basis. Your name and other specific personal/contact information will not be used or made available at any time in the advertising process.
General site demographic information is made publicly available.
Project information and profile information is accessible on a limited basis to general public, and generally available to GeekBidder members.
External Links
This site contains links to external sites. Links are either displayed as advertising or are posted by registered users GeekBidder. GeekBidder makes a good faith effort to monitor all advertising links, though we take no responsibility for the content/actions of the linked websites. User-posted links are not monitored by our staff. Again, we take no responsibility for the content/actions of these linked sites.

Internal and External Communication
When a user registers with GeekBidder, an email required for account confirmation will be sent to the user’s Primary Email Address.
The user also has the option of subscribing to an occasional newsletter on an opt-in opt-out basis.
GeekBidder provides an internal messaging system to all users. GeekBidder reserves the right to send users non-commercial messages.
Site Statistics
Statistical information is collected when a user views a webpage. Such raw statistical data is only available to GeekBidder and its immediate staff and will not be made public.
Site Security
GeekBidder has reasonable security measures in place to ensure that personal contact information stays private at all times. All accounts are password protected to prevent fraudulent account access.
Notification of Changes
GeekBidder members will be notified of any substantial changes to the privacy policy via email and/or the GeekBidder Messaging System.
