» If I post a project and only one person bids, does that obligate me to award the project to that person?
» What is the difference between a pre-bid and a final bid?
» When I place a bid, I don’t want anyone to see any of the information I’ve submitted. Is this possible?
» When I attach a file to a Public Bid, can anyone download that file?
» Is the GeekBidder system complete at this point?

Q. How much does your service cost?
A. GeekBidder membership is completely free. We never take out a percentage of the winning bid, nor do we charge a monthly fee for an entry level account. Geeks and Buyers may purchase “Featured Geek” or “Preferred Project” upgrades, though that is completely at will.

Q. Can I register as both a Buyer and a Geek?
A. Currently, you may not register as both a Buyer and a Geek under the same account. You must register two separate accounts. Should the demand arise, we would consider implementing this.

Q. How much commission do you take on each transaction?
A. The simple answer to this is zero. If you have an established relationship with a buyer and feel comfortable sending a regular check via mail, then you are more than able to do that. If you require a slightly more secure method of payment, you may use an escrow account to transfer funds. The only fee you will pay is the commission the escrow company charges for the transfer. We don’t take a penny.

Q. If I post a project and only one person bids, does that obligate me to award the project to that person?
A. If the one bid does not fit your current needs, you are not required to award the project to anyone.

Q. What is the difference between a pre-bid and a final bid?
A. When a Pre-Bid is placed, the Geek still has the option to change any options related to his or her bid. However, when the bidding period is over, all Pre-Bids can be treated as Final.

Q. When I place a bid, I don’t want anyone to see any of the information I’ve submitted. Is this possible?
A. This is exactly why we’ve build in the ability to place “Private Bids.” Checking this ensures that only the Buyer who posted the project is able to see your Bid Price, Bid Description, and any other associated information.

Q. When I attach a file to a Public Bid, can anyone download that file?
A. Only the Buyer who posted the project will have the ability to download any files uploaded with bids, even if the Bid is posted as Public.

Q. Is the GeekBidder system complete at this point?
A. Not by a long shot – we have big plans for GeekBidder in the future. This is simply the beginning. We will be adding new features to the system constantly. In fairness, it will probably never be complete. That’s a good thing for you.

If you have any other questions or comments, send us an email at support@geekbidder.com. If you feel your question should be on the FAQ page, mention that as well.
